MoD scaffolding case study

Scaffolding for Ministry of Defence Roof Renewal and Solar Installation

In 2025, Cat Scaffolding delivered a major commercial scaffolding project for the Ministry of Defence, valued at £700,000.

The works involved the construction of scaffolding to two large office buildings to facilitate roof renewal and solar panel installation. Given the scale and sensitivity of the site, the project required strict planning, disciplined site management and efficient delivery within a tightly controlled programme.

Each building was constructed to a bespoke scaffold design to meet the specific structural and operational requirements of the works. Large crash decks were installed within both courtyard areas to provide additional protection and safe working platforms throughout the project.

Upon completion, over 10,000 scaffold boards were in place across the site, reflecting the scale and complexity of the build. Cat Scaffolding worked to a highly efficient timescale, ensuring the programme remained on track while maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards required for a Ministry of Defence facility.
